Year two of Gaming at SXSW did not disappoint. Held again at the Austin Convention Center, the 3 day gaming festival took place from March 15 - 17. From panels to exhibitors to live champion games, the gamers should have been very happy with the setup. When is comes to panels, SXSW decided to focus on the world of Esports. Some of the heavy hitters in Esports spoke about the boom of Esports and the corporate backing its attracting. Former Los Angeles Laker, Rick Fox was on had discussing why he got into the Esports worlds and what it takes to manage a competitive team. The exhibit floor had vending that offered great interactive gaming, cool items to purchase and championship league play.
A couple of the exhibit floor highlights were; The Houston Outlaws held a fan meetup to watch the active team live compete against the San Francisco Shock during the Overwatch League competition. Twitch broadcast the 2018 Gran Final Super Magical Cup. Fans were are able to witness an awesome came back from Asuchini, but finished second to the young Diego from Team Queso.
At the end of Clash Royale - 2018 Gran Final Super Magical Cup, the gaming world was hit with a shocker. Clash Royale Legend "The Rum Ham" is hanging his hat. The Cup was is final broadcast. One of the more respected and knowledgeable Clash Royale casters you'll ever meet. The Rum Ham announced at the end of the live Twitch broadcast that he's moving back to his old field work and he'll truly miss the Clash Royale family.
